Dylan Gottfried came to Siegmund Excavation in 2019 after a lengthy career in the lumber industry. He did a variety of jobs at a local, Santiam Canyon area mill for several years before switching to a shipping & receiving position at a company in Woodburn. There, he loaded and unloaded trucks, honing his skills as a forklift operator. This experience sparked an interest in learning to operate other types of equipment. Dylan was born and raised in Stayton, and was familiar with Siegmund Excavation and the Seigmund family. At the advice of a good friend, he submitted an application. Dylan says he got a great vibe from his interview, even though he “had a mountain of knowledge to absorb, with minimal knowledge of the job to be. He started with learning the ropes on the road building crew, moving temporarily to the crushing crew in February of 2021. Currently he is learning the ins and outs of operating brusher.
Dylan grew up playing baseball, and doing everything that a country boy does as a kid, including hunting, fishing, and camping. He also spent several years in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Dylan now has three kids of his own who also love to go camping and do outdoor stuff with their dad as often as they can.
