Rick Martin has been running equipment for Siegmund Excavation for three years. Rick started logging straight out of high school in the old growth redwoods. He set chokers behind a CAT during the summer, and on the tower side in winter. In the 1980s, Rick began traveling the world doing oil and gas exploration. He returned to his logging roots in the early 90s, running skid CAT and skidder. A few years later he went to work for a small excavation company, running excavator and dozer. Rick says he came to Siegmund because he was tired of digging in the streets on paint and he loves the outdoors.
Rick grew up in a small town in Northern California. He played sports in school, including two years as a catcher in Babe Ruth baseball. Today, Rick’s days off from work are dedicated to rest and relaxation. He spends most of his time at home with his wife and two daughters. He also loves to hunt and spends most of his vacation hunting with the same group of guys year after year.
